Data processed by the Android app
On Android, Teyo Player reads the Android ID locally to derive the stable Virtual MAC and six-digit Device Key displayed by the app. The raw Android ID is not transmitted to the Teyo Player server. The app sends the derived Virtual MAC, its source label, and the Device Key to Teyo Player over HTTPS to register the device, check trial or activation status, and retrieve the playlists connected to that device.
The server stores the displayed MAC Address, a one-way hash of the Device Key, trial and activation status, relevant technical timestamps, an approximate country code, and a keyed one-way hash of the network address used for security, fraud prevention, and device-status purposes. The raw Device Key is used in transit for authentication but is not stored in readable form on the server.
Teyo Player stores playlist details, favourites, trial state, activation state, and downloaded library information locally on the Android device so the player can operate. Removing the app or clearing its storage removes this local data, subject to Android backup and restore settings controlled by the user and device platform.
Other supported televisions
On supported Samsung and LG televisions, Teyo Player may use the platform DUID or LGUDID locally to keep a stable screen identity. The raw platform identifier is hashed on the television and is not sent to the Teyo Player server. Only the derived, MAC-shaped address shown inside the app is transmitted.
Your playlist
A playlist name and the M3U or provider URL you submit through My List are stored by Teyo Player. Playlist URLs are encrypted at rest and are returned only after the matching app presents the correct MAC Address and Device Key. The app then connects to the playlist or media provider you selected. That third-party provider may receive technical request data such as your IP address and user agent under its own privacy practices.
Some Smart TV providers block direct M3U downloads. In that case, Teyo Player may temporarily relay the M3U document through this website after checking the device credentials and trial or activation status. The playlist document is not permanently stored by the relay, and video streams continue directly between the TV and the playlist provider.
Payments
If you choose a paid activation on the website, the checkout provider shown before payment processes your payment details. Teyo Player supports Stripe and Hotmart for current checkouts and may retain records from legacy PayPal or Gumroad transactions. Teyo Player stores the payment provider, order and transaction references, amount, currency, payment status, and relevant timestamps. Teyo Player does not store full card numbers. Payment providers process payment data under their own privacy policies.
Visitor statistics
The website counts page views and approximate daily visitors using a keyed, rotating one-way hash derived from the network address, browser user agent, and date. The analytics table stores the resulting hash, page path, and timestamp rather than the raw network address or full browser user agent.
How data is used and shared
Teyo Player uses the information described above to provide device access, enforce one trial per device, process activations, authenticate playlist changes, deliver playlists, secure the service, prevent fraud, provide support, and maintain essential service statistics. Teyo Player does not sell personal or device data and does not use it for targeted advertising.
Data is disclosed only when needed to the payment provider selected by the user, infrastructure providers that host or secure the service, the playlist or media provider selected by the user, professional advisers where necessary, or public authorities when required by applicable law.
Security
Teyo Player uses HTTPS for data in transit, authenticated device requests, one-way hashing for Device Keys and network identifiers, and authenticated encryption for playlist URLs stored on the server. No system is completely secure, but access is restricted to the purposes described in this policy.
Retention and deletion
Device, activation, and playlist records are retained while needed to provide the trial, purchased access, playlist delivery, security, and support. Visitor statistics are retained only while reasonably needed for service measurement and security. Payment, transaction, fraud-prevention, accounting, and legal records may be retained for the period required by law or a legitimate business obligation.
The app does not create a named user account. To request deletion of a device record and its connected playlists, email admin@teyoplayer.com with the subject “Teyo Player data deletion request” and include the Device MAC displayed by the app. Teyo Player may request reasonable verification before deleting data. Data that must be retained for payment, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal compliance will be retained only for those purposes.
Children
Teyo Player is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact us to request deletion.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the application, website, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
